It's been a while

It's been a while since I've gotten on here. I want to try to get on here at least once a month to update. The last time was was March! But the picture was Christmas! We've been so busy. We joined a great co-op group in February and we're enjoying it so much! Next week is out last day until the fall though. We plan to keep busy this summer with swimming, camping, schooling, and just doing fun things. Updated pics and activities hopefully to follow soon.

100th Day of School

Here on this post I am putting pictures of our 100 days of school celebration. I had found so many great ideas that I decided the children would just participate in the centers instead of our regular work. They had some challenges and some easy activities, but enjoyed it so much it didn't feel like work! I thought pictures would be nice in case anyone wanted some ideas!
Below are pictures of the kids working on the "centers" for our 100th day of school!

Our busy little schooler participating in activities! The picture on the right is his completed trail mix before baggin' and eatin'!

The picture here on the left and several below are pictures of the activities before they children began.

Below are the three special 100 day breakfasts I made for each of them!

shown above are N's 100th day breakfast(gluten free homemade waffles and raspberries) and still sleepy J with his.

The two plates of food above are J's (on left, french toast stick and strawberries) and A's on the right (two over easy eggs with toast and red grapes). YUMMY! We all ended up having some of the homemade waffles!(new recipe).

Our School Room Fall/winter 2010-2011

These are pictures I took of our school room amost ready just before we started school. I've made a few changes due to the addition of the new baby and having to make room for a crib for her. I now have four desks on the one wall where the two are and where the little one is in front of the window I now have a desk for myself. It's a little crammed, but we're making it work. Because I had to move the desk into our school room, I had to move the workboxes. I am not thrilled with their placement, but for now it'll have to do! We are planning on putting our home up for sale soon and looking for a bigger home that is closer to my husbands job. We use our kitchen table a lot too, thankfully it's big!!

It's been a while since I have been on here! It's been quite the challange with a newborn, a toddler (2), a 10 and 12 year old! Always in transition!! I will be uploading new pictures soon. We been enjoying some fun activities for Valentine's day and our 100th day of school! I had such a fun time finding and putting together activities I found. The kids loved them! Thanks to all for the great comments!

update on classroom 2010-2011

I'm finally getting things settled and organized in our classroom. Although it's not yet totally finished, I have some hanging up of things and some more filing, although I've gotten more done since these pictures were taken and I am thankful for that!
This is our current workboxes set up.
The picture below is a picture of where our computers currently are, but I'm hoping to relocate them soon!

The first picture below is a picture of the other part of our computer area and one of our "new" desks! The other picture is a picture of the other two desks and some of our shelves that hold our school supplies. The little purple desk is no longer there, we have replaced it with a desk like the other two, only smaller - for our little schooler Joey (almost 2).

The picture below is a picture of where most of our school supplies are stored it is thankfully more organized now than it was when I took this picture!

setting up our classroom

I'm still working on setting up our classroom area. Can't do as much or move as fast with pregnancy number four here! I finally got things settled in the cabinet my aunt gave us. Now it's a lot of sorting through and filing papers. The kids are excited about the school desks their poppy found. I've cleaned them up and the kids have already put their binders and notebooks inside of them for now. I even found a small binder for little Joey to do his "school work" in. I will be posting pictures soon. Unfortunately our multi-card reader is broken so I'm off to get a new one along with our groceries today. I'll post more updates as they come along.

Abby's dollhouse..more 12/09

Here are more pictures of my progress on making Abby's dollhouse.

This is more of Abby's dollhouse with floor two added. This is the house with all floors now in.

This is the house with the roof completed. Front of house and painting left to add!

Here it is!! Almost finished! We have painted a couple of the rooms. We need to finish painting and I have to add a door to the front. This was quite a project, but fun!

Abby's dollhouse in progress December 2009

This is the divider wall for floor number one.

I added a wall where the roof is, to make two attic rooms.

This was next. I added floor number one.

This is how I started making this house. It was a dresser. I took the it apart, except for what you see and added the wood on top for a roof.

I made a doll house for Abby for Christmas. I have never done anything like this and have wanted to for a long time. I did not get to completely finish it, we need to add to more outside walls and finish painting.

School room 2009

Here are some pictures from September 2009 of our school room. This is a view of easel and computer desk.
This is where I had toy, craft supplies and some educational games stored.

Here is another view of that area above. There is also a picture of what we now use for workboxes. Previously they stored paper, scissors, glue, rulers, etc. We still use those boxes for that, but also use the same type of boxes for our workboxes.

This is a slightly better view of our "big desk". I used an old hollow door, covered with wood looking self adhesive paper. It currently holds two computers, plus other things needed (pens, pencils, paper etc.). This desk is going to be moved to our playroom for the kids to use to play on. They will be getting their own desks for this school year.

Our playroom/school room 2008

I'm curently rearranging our everchanging homeschool room. Here are some pictures of our school room from 2008 (when I had changed it into a playroom). This room was formerly our dining room and it is a small room. When I say small, I mean small. It is only about 9x8(can't remember exactly). The room no longer looks this way, I'll post new pictures later. This was the first way it was arranged after converting from dining room to playroom. I've seen so many great pictures of homeschool classrooms, but most are much bigger. I thought it might be nice to post these for others that may have only small rooms to work with as well. I have arranged and rearranged this room many times! Now, I'm rearranging it again!
