My Father's World - ECC geography fun?

Okay, here's the deal, my daughter, Miss A she is not liking the geography worksheets at all.  I've tried to give her some ideas on how to make it more interesting by adding little things here and there, creating a notebooking page etc. but she just wasn't doing that either.  So, finally I told her I'm now taking charge and she is to to the following for her geography for each country:

Lets take lakes, rivers, islands (I believe that was three worksheets she was supposed to do for Africa - Kenya).    I said you will need a map that shows the lakes rivers and islands.  You can highlight them with paint or marker etc.  Then she is to find pictures of some of these lakes, rivers and islands and place them near where the actual thing is.   Another one is climate.  She needs to find a climate map of Africa.  She needs to make sure it's labeled and then, lets say there tends to be more snow in the northern part, she will find pics from image search, copy, paste and print them and glue them in the north part of Africa, but in a scrapbook way - looks nice and not just "stuck" on there.  Then she'd do the same for each climate.  She could make a little key to show different little symbols for each type of precipitation/or not (in some cases).  She seemed to like this idea.  As soon as she gets this week complete I'll take some pictures and post them. I do want to put more information on here about my two big kids too.  I also really enjoy reading other blogs of families who use the same curriculum we do.  I love to get new ideas!

Another thing we're doing instead of the recommended Apologia General Science is, she chooses at least one animal, maybe two, from the country we are studying.  She then is to find out whatever she can that she feels she wants to display about the animal.  I did give her some ideas, food, shelter etc.  She's gotten quite a few together, we now have to sit and put them together nicely to add to her science binder.

Below is a picture two pages my daughter printed. One page has three Pond Bats, found in Germany (and other places).  The other page is a map of Germany.  I'm going to help her out with this one to get her going in the right direction.

I'm hoping this blog will catch the eyes of other My Father's World families and help them too.  So, whether you're part of My Father' world family, my family (blood or church)..or just a friend who's curious, I hope you've enjoyed reading this post.  I know the photos will spice it up, I'll get her moving quickly!
