Making a switch..for now. My Father's World to Sonlight.

So, that's right we are making a switch from My Father's World to Sonlight.  We are going to give it a try for this year.  Then we'll see how it goes.  Not sure if I'm holding onto the MFW or letting it go at this point.  I was going to hold, then I recently brought it down from the attic and was going to sell.  BUT, I'm now thinking it is best to wait to see if this is a permanent change or temporary.

Some may be wondering why the switch?  Well, a few months ago I was considering something different for my oldest only.  I was however, praying for all.  I want to be sure the path we are on is God's plans not my own.  I went to write down MFW and the other curriculum I had been thinking about and "somehow" Sonlight came out!   I believe it is the direction the Lord wants us in, at least for this coming school year.  We shall see how it goes.  Sometimes I think a combination of the two would be best!

So, we shall be beginning our journey with Sonlight soon.  I have more purchasing to do before I can start.  I've got the language arts portions for my younger two and the science for them.  I just paid for the core we will be using last night.  I also purchased the books to go with it, a few still missing though. We are not using a math SL recommends for the younger two - God's direction - For the older two, I think I will be ordering from MFW for our oldest and the only one left, our Abbygirl, I've got to order all for her.  We are switching to a math that they use in SL.  We are going to make a switch from MUS (Math U See) to TT (Teaching Textbooks).  We started with MUS a little late in the game for her and due to life stuff and her lack of wanting to do math and not always getting it done when she should have, we gotten too "behind" for my liking.  I think TT will be a good program for her.  I think she may do better with it.  If it goes well we will stick with it.  If not, I've still got pre-algebra for MUS..we'd need to go on to the next level.

So, I plan to try to get on here again to make regular updates.  :)  We are planning to put our home up for sale, but have some work to do in it first.  We will hopefully be moving during..or just at the beginning of our school year.  :)
